Granola
Makes 24 generous portions.
Ingredients
- 4 cups rolled oat
- 4 cups nuts seeds and dried fruit of your choice.
For example:
- 1 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup raw cashews
- 1/2 cup raw almonds
- 1/2 cup raw pepitas
- 1/4 cup flax seeds
- 4 dried apricots chopped up
- 3 dried figs chopped up
(other possibilities; wheat germ, bran, blueberry, dates, cranberry)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
- pinch of ground clove
- pinch of ground nutmeg
Directions
Mix all together in a bowl. Put on a cookie sheet (about 13" by 18") covered with parchment paper. Bake at 260F for 1hr 15min. Stir every 30 min. If you double the recipe, separate on to two cookie sheets, the depth of the granola on the sheet makes a difference.
