Fogo Clay Studio

The Studio is a working building like the stages and stores found throughout outport Newfoundland. We renovated what was a former storage space that had been vacant for several years. Our studio sits on a shore over Fogo Harbour. For centuries working buildings and houses didn’t have windows on the water, because the water was work. That’s changing, and we have an expansive view on the water to inspire you while you shape clay into forms, whether looking upon calm, or storm.

Fogo Clay Studio is outfitted with the following furniture & equipment:

1 Electric Kiln: 1 x 10 Cu Ft Cone Art BX 2827
8 studio wheels & 1 staff wheel: Shimpo VL-whisper
1 Slab Roller
6 Hand-building tables: 42”x42” wooden surface
2 wedging tables: 3′ x 2′ plaster surface
Heavy duty wooden shelving for work storage: 3′x2′x8′
Glaze counter: 8′ x 2 1/2′ wooden surface
20 Studio glazes
Gallery with woodstove
Bathroom
