Joan Bruneau


 

Joan Bruneau will be hosting the 1 week pottery retreat on October 17-23, 2021

From Nova Scotia, Joan’s love of travel and food sparked her desire to become a potter. She has a BFA from NSCAD University, and an MFA from the University of Minnesota. Joan has taught at Emily Carr University ( Vancouver, BC) and currently teaches at NSCAD and in distance ceramics diploma programs at the Australia National University and the Glasgow School of Art, in addition to teaching workshops throughout North America. Her home base though is her own Nova Terra Cotta studio which she established in 1995. Her work is regularly exhibited and is in recognized private and public collections. Joan was the 2009 recipient of the Established Artist Recognition Award from the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership and the 2005 recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award which funded her residency at La Meridiana Ceramics Residency in Italy in 2005.
